Reaching IT Buyers on Social Media

By August 13, 2014No Comments

Over three million companies use LinkedIn to share business and industry insights, attract customers and create productive discussions. IT buyers are especially active on LinkedIn. In fact, IT buyers are 50% more likely to engage with vendors using LinkedIn rather than any other social network. LinkedIn provides IT buyers with links, articles, discussions, customer and professional reviews, and allows them to make comparisons between businesses.

All of the information that IT buyers gather on social sites influences 7 out of 10 of them during the 5 stages of decision making. Social networking sites, especially LinkedIn, play a large part in the research process of IT buyers as they decide which vendors to engage with. If you are looking to attract IT buyers, think about creating a LinkedIn profile or editing yours to be more attractive to buyers. LinkedIn Company Pages, Showcase Pages, and Groups are great resources for attracting IT professionals to your business, teaching them about your offerings, and engaging in meaningful discussions with decision makers. However, individual’s LinkedIn profile pages are far more effective than corporate pages for engaging with prospects.  Writing posts that include photos on LinkedIn are especially great at reaching large target audiences.
