I grew up in NJ, so my Dad and Grandpa were HUGE Giants fans. When I was small, the G-men weren’t very good, so I rooted for the Steelers because my Mom was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Today to the chagrin of my New England neighbors, I root for the Giants and Seahawks.
Funny story: My Dad worked with the nephew of the guy that owned the Giants, so we got great tickets from time to time, which were really hard to come by. We went to an Eagles-Giants playoff game in Philadelphia, and I had to pretend to root for the Eagles to stay safe. Eagles fans are “intense.”

My favorite football team = USA Women’s National Team (aka the “other” Football). The team is the most successful in international women’s soccer, winning four Women’s World Cup titles and four Olympic gold medals.

As a University of Michigan alumnus, my favorite football team is the Michigan Wolverines, of course! I must admit, I didn’t go into my freshman year as a huge Michigan football fan, but you can’t beat the atmosphere of 110,000 screaming fans at the Big House (along with the tailgating). It didn’t hurt that the team decided to go undefeated that year (with Charles Woodson winning the Heisman Trophy), and I made the trip to Pasadena to watch them beat Washington State in the Rose Bowl bringing home a national title! How could you not be a fan after a year like that? Little did I know, that’s not how it would go year in and year out (starting off 0-2 the very next season), but my love for the Wolverines has never diminished.

The Detroit Lions. Each game is such a rollercoaster of emotions, calls, and plays. You can feel everything from excitement to anger and pain, to laughter and joy. But the nice part about watching the Lions is we all know what’s going to happen at the end of the day, so you’re never too surprised.

While I’m not a fan of American football, I do enjoy a good soccer match, otherwise known as football in the rest of the world. My favorite team is Detroit City Football Club (DCFC). Their rabid fan base always makes for an entertaining event. They kick off games with a march to the stadium, throw smoke bombs, and sing hilarious chants – most of which aren’t fit to print. Attending a game is sure to lift anyone’s spirits and you’ll go away feeling like you were part of something bigger than yourself.

I have many fond memories of the University of Michigan football games (and some games I’d like to forget!) from my years there as a student. I’ve even got my 1-year-old son chanting Go Blue! and pumping his fist to the fight song. It’s in his genes 🙂

My favorite football team is the Detroit Lions. I am a Lions fan because I was born and raised in Michigan so there was really no other option for me. I could never root for the Dallas Cowboys or some other bandwagon team.
One day the Lions will be a good team and make the playoffs and I will have something to root for. And maybe if I wish for it enough, the Lions will make the Superbowl. I can dream.
Marla Sokolowski, Senior Director of Marketing Systems
My favorite team is the Ohio State Buckeyes. O-H!
I’ve been a Buckeyes fan for as long as I can remember and more so now that my Michigan-based family has joined Buckeye Nation. Rarely does a fall weekend pass when we’re not enjoying the game from afar and catching a glimpse of The Ohio State University Marching Band (TBDBITL).
Tom Bonaventura, Account Director
My favorite football team is the New England Patriots. Growing up in Maine and during the era of Tom Brady (a.k.a. the GOAT), there was nothing better then watching a Pats game on Sunday with friends. Now that I live in lower CT, I only see a few NE games a year, not to mention Tom Brady is playing for the Buccaneers. I will always love my New England Patriots, regardless.

While I am not a huge football fan, I thoroughly enjoy preparing and consuming the snacks involved during game day. If I had to choose a team, it would be the Detroit Lions. Nothing says “I’m from Michigan” like rooting for a team that lets you down most of the time. That being said, I think there’s something really fun and special about Lions fans’ unwavering loyalty.

When I was little, we lived in Los Altos, California, and had season tickets to the Stanford Cardinal football games. I loved going with my family. I even had a special outfit in cardinal red to wear. We would picnic (tailgate) before each game, cheer, and see some amazing plays. Of course, the band was delightfully entertaining as they have never been a traditional marching band. During one game, the Stanford team blocked a field goal when three players literally jumped on the shoulders of three others. It was thrilling. Who knew then that I would be a Stanford mom? My son went to Stanford and played alto sax in the band. How cool is that? I still love to watch their games. Of course, a close second (or even tied for first) is the Colorado Buffaloes, my alma mater. No pro football for me, but I’ll watch college football any day.
